Good and Convenient
When you say, ‘Good girl,’ or ‘Good boy,’ or ‘You were well behaved,’
What you really mean is, ‘Your behaviour was convenient for me.’
Instead, how about we thank kids for cooperating with us,
despite them being individuals who are entitled to disagree.
Remember, true cooperation is a two-way street.
Children aren’t your property; they’re not meant to be convenient.
You’re also required to oblige when your child’s wants conflict with yours,
Try seeing yourself as cooperative, where you would have thought you were being lenient.
